Kacy Brown

Key Person, Forest School Leader

Brief info

BA Silversmithing, Jewellery & Allied Craft; PGCE in Primary Education; MA in Education; Level 3 Forest School Leader

Despite graduating in the early 2000s in silversmithing, I have always worked in childcare. Taking on many roles including managing children’s holiday clubs across Europe, nannying and being teaching assistant in several primary schools. I finally started out on my teaching career in 2014 by studying for my PGCE in Primary Education.

Early on I realised that teaching in the early years was my passion and I spent several years teaching in Reception before making the transition to preschool.

After a short break, to have my son and to follow my love of travelling I came back to teaching in preschool at a local nursery where I also continued my own education by taking on my level 3 Forest School Leader award.

Outside of work I like to be creative, crocheting, sewing, baking and still creating the odd bit of jewellery. I enjoy spending time outside with my family or with my dog, walking and running. As well as travelling the world. My current county count is 56, nowhere is off my list!
